A snapshot of a good day can’t tell you whether someone’s okay. Ask them in person.

REFLECTION
A photograph is a sample taken at the moment somebody could manage a photograph. It tells you they were upright and smiling for a quarter of a second, which is not the same as information about their week, and people who are struggling often post more rather than less. Looking fine is a skill most people acquire early.
If you have a feeling about somebody, the only thing that actually answers it is their company. Sit next to them, give it the time it takes for the first polite answer to wear off, and ask again more plainly. They may say nothing much, and they will know you asked.
Whose good photos stopped you from asking how they are?
