Remember how lost you felt your first day at work. Go find this week’s version of you and show them the break room.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

You know exactly what the first day feels like, which makes you more useful than anybody senior. Not knowing where to put your bag, whether you are allowed to sit down, who to ask, and nobody being unkind, only busy. That memory has a short life, because within a month you will have forgotten there was anything to explain.

So spend it while you have it. Find whoever started this week and tell them the three things nobody says out loud: where the break room is, which manager to ask, what people do at lunch. Four minutes of your shift, and they remember you for the whole job.
