You remember the compliment someone gave you years ago. They forgot. Give them away freely.

The exchange rate is absurdly in your favour. A sentence that takes four seconds and leaves no trace in the person saying it can sit in somebody else for a decade, getting taken out on bad days and read again. You are almost certainly carrying one yourself right now from a teacher who would not remember saying it.
So stop rationing them. Three this week, said out loud and specific enough to be true: to a friend, to somebody at work, to whoever at home does the unnoticed jobs. It will feel slightly awkward, because nobody practises this, and the awkwardness costs you nothing at all.
Which compliment from years ago do you still carry?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
