Lying under a dark sky for half an hour is the cheapest way to resize your problems.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Scale is relative, and your sense of how big a problem is comes from whatever you have been looking at. Spend an evening staring at a screen the size of your hand and everything on it feels enormous. Look at something genuinely vast and the same problem comes back at a more honest size. Nothing about it changed except the ruler.

Find a darkish spot this week, a garden, a field, a window with the lights off behind you, and stay there twenty minutes without your phone. Take somebody if that feels better. The thing you were spiralling about will still exist, usually smaller than it was.
