Referees miss things because they’re human, not because they hate you. Same with teachers.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A missed call feels personal because you were in the middle of it, with a full view and a stake. The official had one angle, half a second and twenty other things to track. Error is the normal output of that situation, and no amount of fairness removes it. Malice is a much rarer explanation than limited attention.

When a call or a grade goes against you this week, try the boring explanation first. If it genuinely matters, ask calmly the next day rather than in the moment: can you show me where I lost the marks. You will get a better answer and keep a relationship you need.

Which teacher’s oversight did you take as something personal?
