Generosity is most revealing when nobody can repay it.

Giving where something comes back is trade with a warm coat on. It is fine, and it tells you very little. What you are actually like shows in what you do for someone who cannot return it, cannot help you later, and may not even know it was you.

Do one thing this month that has no possible return path. It should feel slightly unremarkable rather than noble. That plainness is the signal that it was actually generosity rather than an investment.
