The view from your window is somebody’s dream vacation. You stopped seeing it because you see it every day.

Value is not a property of a place, it is a relationship between the place and how used to it you are. The hill, the coast or the sky out of your window is what somebody else is saving up to see, and you stopped seeing it in three weeks. Nothing about it got worse. Your attention filed it as background and moved on.
Look out of your own window properly this week, the way you would in a hotel. Find one thing you had not registered in months. If the view is genuinely grim, there is still something in it worth seeing, and finding that is its own exercise.
What outside your window would a visitor photograph before you would?
