Notice who never asks for help. They might need it the most and know how to hide it the best.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Asking takes a confidence not everybody has, and some people learned early that it was safer to manage alone. From outside that looks like competence, so nobody checks on them, which confirms the lesson. The quietest person in a group is often the one furthest from being offered anything.

Offer rather than wait this week, and make it concrete and easy to accept. I am going past yours, want a lift, or I am doing this section tonight, want to do it together. Do not ask them to admit they are struggling. And if you are the one who never asks, let somebody help with one small thing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who around you never asks for anything and probably needs something?
