You don’t need a bigger audience. You need the few who’d notice if you went quiet.

A number and an attachment are not the same thing. A large audience watches you; a few people would actually feel your absence, and only the second group holds anything up on a bad week. Growth in the first does nothing whatsoever for the second, which is why gaining followers can leave you feeling lonelier.

Name the people who would notice if you went silent for a week. Do one small, unposted thing for one of them before Sunday. Put the effort there and let the count do whatever it does.
