The loudest thought in your head isn’t automatically the truest one.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Volume and accuracy have nothing to do with each other inside your own head. The thought that shouts usually has fear behind it, because fear is built to interrupt, while a calm and correct thought has no such delivery system. So the loudest arrival gets treated as the conclusion when it is really just the fastest one through the door.

When a thought shows up at full volume, write it down in one sentence, then write what you would say if a friend told you the same thing. Read both. Give the quieter version a real hearing before you act on anything.
