Notice who keeps showing up for the boring stuff. That’s love without the marketing.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Grand gestures get noticed and cost very little; the dull shifts cost a lot and get noticed by almost nobody. Driving you somewhere, sitting through a tournament in the rain, texting on a day that was not special, that is where caring gets expensive and therefore where it gets proved. Anything with an audience attached is partly advertisement.

Work out who has done the boring thing for you lately and thank them for that specifically. Then do one unglamorous useful thing for somebody and tell nobody about it. Notice both what it costs and that it still counts.
