Handwriting shows when someone was rushed, nervous or careful. Texts hide all of that. Ask more questions.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Handwriting leaks the state of whoever wrote it, and typed characters do not. The hurry, the pressure, the careful lettering all report how somebody was at the time, and none of that survives a text, which is why flat messages read as cold and anxious ones read as fine. You receive the words and then invent everything around them.

When a message lands badly, ask before you conclude, and a plain question about what they meant is enough. Assume missing tone rather than hostility. If the subject actually matters, move it to a call or a corridor.
