You learn a lot about yourself by what you keep on your bedroom walls. Update them when they stop being true.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

What went on your walls was true when you put it there. Taste moves faster than decoration, so a room can end up advertising somebody you have quietly stopped being, and you stop seeing it because it has turned into background. Looking on purpose makes the room informative again. It is a cheap way to find out where you actually are.

Stand in your doorway this week and look as though you had just walked in. Take down one thing that is no longer you, and put up one thing that is true now, a photo, a ticket, something you made. A room should be a record, not a shrine.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Is anything on your walls no longer true about you?
