Changing your style a few times isn’t being fake. It’s trying on versions until one fits.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Trying things on is how anybody finds out what fits. A change in how you dress or talk or spend a Saturday is not a betrayal of the last version, it is ordinary narrowing down. People call it fake because it happens in public and the earlier attempts are still visible. Consistency that arrives too early is usually somebody who stopped looking.

Give yourself permission to test one thing this month without announcing it as a new era. If it does not fit, drop it without a speech. Keep a short private note of what you tried and what you kept, because the keeping is the actual result.
