Whatever you keep putting off is trying to tell you something. Fear, boredom or wrong goal. Figure out which.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Avoidance has more than one cause, and the fix depends entirely on which one you have. Fear needs the task made smaller; boredom needs it made shorter or shared; a goal that was never really yours needs dropping rather than scheduling. Treating all three as a willpower problem is why the same item sits on the list for months.

Take the oldest thing on your list and ask it straight: am I scared, bored, or was this never mine. If scared, do a ten-minute version. If bored, do it with somebody or set a timer. If it was never yours, cross it off properly and feel the relief.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Is the task you keep skipping wrong for you or just frightening?
