Find the one opinion you’d keep even if every friend disagreed. That’s a load-bearing wall in your personality.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Nearly all your views can move without anything else moving, and one or two cannot. The ones that would survive your whole group turning on them are load-bearing: they connect to everything else you believe, so dropping one would change the shape of the rest. Knowing which they are tells you where you are solid, and also how much of the rest is negotiable, which is most of it.
Try to name one. Then test it by asking what you would actually do if holding it cost you something. And hold the rest loosely, because loosely is how you keep learning.
Which belief would you hold with every friend against you?
