Sit in the empty bleachers after everyone leaves. Places sound different when the noise is gone, and so do you.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

A place without its crowd is a different place, and so are you in it. Noise fills everything, including your attention, and when it goes you notice the size of the space, the light, how the last couple of hours actually went rather than how loud they were. Empty rooms are where a day gets reviewed honestly. It takes almost no time and nobody needs to know you stayed.

Stay behind for ten minutes after the next practice or match, or the next time a room you use empties out. Do not photograph it. Let the quiet arrive, ask yourself one plain question about how it went, then go home.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where do you go after everybody else has cleared out?
