“I’ll start Monday” is a sentence worth noticing. Count how many Mondays it has already survived.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Promising a future start gives you most of the feeling of having begun and none of the cost. That is why it repeats. A date on the calendar is doing emotional work rather than practical work, and the number that have already gone by is the only honest measure of it.
Pick the thing you have been postponing and give it ten minutes before bed tonight. Not the whole plan, just the first ugly version of it. A Wednesday with ten minutes in it beats a Monday that never lands.
