You are not every thought that drives through your head. Some are just traffic.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Having a thought is not the same as meaning it. Your head produces a great deal of material every hour, including things that are cruel or strange, and none of it arrived by invitation. What you do with a thought is yours, while the fact that it appeared says almost nothing about you.

Try not taking each one personally this week. When an ugly one goes by, label it as noise rather than evidence and go back to what you were doing. The ones that matter come back, and the rest have moved on by dinner.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which passing thought have you mistaken for a fact about you?
