Be alone long enough and your worries line up to be heard. Better to meet them than drown them out.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Worries that get no hearing during the day do not dissolve, they queue. That is why the first quiet hour can feel like an ambush, six things arriving at once that you outran since morning. Meeting them is uncomfortable and finite, while drowning them out goes on indefinitely.
Write the whole queue down in one go, without solving anything. Most lists turn out to have five or six items on them, which is far fewer than the feeling suggested. Then mark the one or two you can do something about, and let the rest be known rather than fixed.
