Don’t spend your best energy defending your worst decision.

Once you have committed to something that is not working, the cheapest thing to protect is your record, and defending it starts eating the hours you would otherwise use on something good. The decision is already sunk. What is still available is your attention, and that keeps going into the argument about whether you were right.
Notice where your sharpest hours are going this week. If a lot of them are spent justifying a choice rather than improving anything, say the short version out loud: that did not work. Then put the rest of the energy somewhere it can still change an outcome.
Are you still defending a decision you no longer believe?
