When you don’t know what to do, gather information. Most bad moves come from guessing too early.

LEADERSHIP
Not knowing is uncomfortable, and acting is the fastest way to make the discomfort stop. That is why so many bad moves are really impatience: a guess dressed up as a decision, made because waiting felt worse than being wrong. Information is almost always available, and usually cheaper than the mistake.
When you are stuck, give yourself one concrete thing to find out rather than one thing to do. Ask the person who would know, read the actual rules, check the number. Deciding gets much easier once you are not filling gaps with assumptions.
What could you find out before deciding this week?
