If your plan only works in your head, test it on a friend who’ll tell you it’s dumb.

Inside your own head a plan has no friction. The bus runs on time, your sister says yes, the money arrives. Saying it out loud to somebody who is not trying to be nice is the cheapest way to find the step you skipped. Flattery feels better and teaches you nothing at all.
Pick the friend who argues with you and walk them through it in two minutes. Ask where it breaks rather than whether they like it. If their first objection is one you have no answer for, fix that before you spend a weekend or any money.
Who would tell you honestly that your plan is weak?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
