Resolution is difficult when being wrong feels socially expensive.

REFLECTION
Where admitting a mistake means losing standing, nobody admits anything and nothing gets fixed. This is true in families, teams, and whole institutions. The cost of being wrong sets the ceiling on how quickly problems can be corrected.
If you have any influence, make being wrong cheap. Say it about yourself out loud and without drama, and respond well when someone else does. People will only concede a point in an atmosphere where conceding is survivable.
What would it cost you to admit you were wrong at work?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
