Most of the things you own will outlast your interest in them. Few will outlast your kindness.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Objects hold their shape long after you stop caring about them: the bike in the garage, the shirt you loved for a month. Attention moves on much faster than material wears out. Kindness runs the other way around. You forget it almost as soon as you do it, and the person on the receiving end carries it for years.
Think of one thing you bought recently and one decent thing you did for somebody, and ask which one you could still describe in five years. Then put a little of this week into the second kind. Say the useful thing to the person who needs to hear it.
Which thing you badly wanted already sits ignored somewhere?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
