Someone in your family worked jobs they hated so you’d have options they didn’t. Use the options.

The choices sitting in front of you were paid for in somebody’s unglamorous years. A person in your family took the shift, stayed in the job, maybe moved countries, and did it without ever getting to see how it turned out. That is not a debt you have to settle with gratitude. The way it gets honoured is by use.

Take a step into the option you have been leaving on the table: the class, the application, the tryout. If you can, tell whoever cleared the way that you are doing it. They would much rather hear it now.
