Write the recipe down the way you actually make it, not the way the box says. That’s the version someone will want.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The useful version of any set of instructions is the one with somebody’s adjustments in it. A box gives you the average. A family’s version has the extra ten minutes, the ingredient quietly swapped, the step everybody ignores because it never worked. That is the version worth having, and it is the one that never gets written down.
Write out something you can already cook, including what you do differently and why you do it. Then do the same for a task you have figured out at work. Honest instructions are worth more to the next person than tidy ones.
Where does your real method differ from the written one?
