A packed summer and a lazy summer are the same length. Only one gives you stories to tell for the next ten years.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Equal amounts of time produce wildly unequal amounts of memory. Ten weeks spent mostly indoors leaves one blurred impression, while ten weeks with a job, a trip and a few bad decisions leaves a dozen stories still in use at thirty. Density is not about being busy. It is about things actually happening.

Put three events into this summer and build the rest around them: one trip however small, one thing learned, one thing attempted that might not work. Leave plenty of empty days as well. You are after a few anchors, not a full schedule.
