Remember the friend’s mom who always fed you. Someday be that adult for some other kid.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some of the people who looked after you were not related to you and never got thanked for it. A kitchen where you were handed food without having to ask was doing something substantial for a teenager who may have needed it more than anybody said out loud. That kind of care is cheap to give and lands heavily.

Thank her if you can still reach her, by message or in person. Then keep the idea for later, when you are the one with a kitchen and other people’s kids are in it. Feeding somebody is among the simplest ways to be safe to be around.
