Teach a kid to fold a paper frog. Years later they’ll teach someone else. Small skills travel far.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Little skills reproduce themselves. A paper frog takes four minutes to pass on, and the person you taught will show somebody else in a waiting room fifteen years from now with no idea where it came from. That kind of transmission needs one willing person and no equipment whatsoever.
Teach something trivial and delightful to a child this month: a trick, a fold, a knot, a ridiculous song. Go slowly enough that they can do it alone afterwards. You are putting something into circulation that will outrun you easily.
Which small skill could you teach someone younger this week?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
