Titles disappear with the company. What hangs around is the specific thing people associated with you, usually something small that showed up every time you did: a dish, a joke, the way you always had tape in your bag. Nobody plans it. It gets assigned to you because you repeated it until it became yours.

You cannot really engineer this, but you can notice what people already come to you for and get better at it on purpose. Learn to make one thing well enough that you bring it to every gathering this year. Being the person who brings the good potatoes is a real thing to be.
