Plenty of restored cars were started by one person and finished by their kid. Start things worth someone finishing.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some projects are longer than one person. A car in a garage, a house, a family business: the first pair of hands does not always get to see it done, and the work still counts because somebody else can pick it up. That changes what it means to start something ambitious. Finishing is not the only way for effort to matter.

If there is something you want that looks too big for the time you have, start it anyway and keep it in a state somebody could continue: labelled, written down, not a mystery. Then do the first small piece this month. Leaving a good beginning is a real contribution.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would you start even if somebody else finished it?
