Nobody frames a picture of a clean kitchen. They frame the messy table with everybody squeezed around it.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

What gets kept is the crowded version. A tidy room photographs well and means nothing, while the picture that ends up on a wall has too many people in frame, a cluttered table and somebody half out of shot, because the mess is evidence that something was happening. Nobody misses the clean house. They miss the full one.

This week, let something be crowded and untidy on purpose: invite the extra person, use the good plates on a Tuesday, take the photo before you clear the table. Nobody looking at it later will notice the clutter. They will count the faces.
