One day your sibling stops being someone you live with and becomes someone you choose. Choose them.

For now it is compulsory. You share a house, a bathroom, a set of rules, and a lot of the friction comes from the arrangement rather than from the person. That ends, and then the relationship only continues if somebody keeps picking it up, because nothing is forcing contact once you live in different places. Plenty of siblings simply drift at that point without any argument taking place.

Start now, in a small way, so there is something there later. Send them a thing they would find funny. Ask about the thing they are into that you find boring, and remember one detail of the answer.
