An introduction puts your name on two people at once. You are telling each of them that the other is worth their time, and if one turns out to be careless with the other, that lands partly on you. Most people never think about this, and a single casual connection can complicate a whole group. That is not a reason to keep everybody apart, only a reason to think first.

Before you connect two friends, ask yourself whether you would warn one about the other. If the answer is yes, do not make the introduction. And when it goes well, stay out of the middle and let it be theirs.
