Two Thanksgivings is a lot of driving. It also means two tables set a place for you.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Driving between two houses on the same holiday is tiring and it is also a strange kind of evidence. Two sets of people rearranged their day so there would be a chair with your name on it, and in each house somebody counted you in while making the food. The logistics are the cost of being wanted in more than one place. That does not make the car journey shorter, and it does change what the journey is for.

Pick one thing to do at each table rather than racing through both. Ask one person a real question. And say thank you to whoever did the cooking, in both houses.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH
