Trust isn’t a test you pass once. It’s attendance.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being trusted is not a qualification you earn and then hold. It is closer to a record that gets updated every week, which is why somebody who was reliable for two years can still damage it in a fortnight of not turning up. That sounds exhausting and it is actually freeing, because it means a bad stretch is not final either. The record keeps running, and the next entry is always available.

Look at your last month rather than your best year. If you have been absent somewhere, start turning up again without an announcement. Consistency is boring to do and it is the only thing that accumulates.
