If you had help others didn’t, say so. It doesn’t erase your work. It just tells the truth about it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Advantages and effort are not in competition. You can have worked extremely hard and also had a parent who proofread, a quiet room, a lift to practice, equipment that somebody paid for. Naming those does not reduce the hours you put in. Leaving them out just makes the result look as if it came from nothing.

When somebody asks how you managed it, put the help in the answer. It costs you nothing and it is useful to the person asking, because they are trying to work out what it would take for them.
