Saying “I read one article about it” is more honest than sounding like an expert.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
There is a large space between knowing nothing and actually knowing something, and most of what gets said confidently comes from that middle ground. Naming where your information came from costs almost nothing and changes how everything after it should be weighted. People trust a sourced half-opinion more than a confident whole one.
Add the size of your knowledge to the claim this week: where you read it, how long ago, whether you checked. If somebody in the room knows more, you have just invited them to say so.
Which topic do you discuss with more confidence than knowledge?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
