Coaches can tell the difference between a mistake and not caring. So can you, if you’re honest.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Errors from effort and errors from indifference look similar on paper and feel completely different to watch. Anyone who has seen a lot of play reads it instantly in the small things: how fast you get back, whether you look up, what your body does afterwards. You know which one you were doing too, if you ask the question directly.

After your next bad stretch, name it honestly to yourself in one word: mistake, or coasting. Only one of those needs practice. The other needs you to decide whether you still want to be there.
