Admit when you’re jealous. Jealousy you won’t admit tends to come out as criticism.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The feeling does not disappear when it is denied, it just changes outfits. Unnamed envy comes out as suddenly noticing flaws, as a small joke at their expense, as a reason their success does not really count. You experience it as having high standards, and the people around you can usually see what it actually is.
Say it to yourself in plain words, or to one friend who will not repeat it. Then separate the two questions: is what they did good, and do you want something similar. Admitted jealousy is often ambition that has not been given a name yet.
Whose success have you criticized when envy was the real feeling?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
