Lie about being sick to skip practice and you’ll have to keep acting sick all day.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A lie about your body comes with a performance attached. You have to stay off your feet, keep the story consistent, turn down the thing you actually wanted to do later, and remember who you told what. The skipped session was one hour. The acting takes the rest of the day, and it is more tiring than practice would have been.
If you need a session off, ask for it as itself: tired, sore, head not in it. Coaches hear that more often than you think, and it costs you nothing to say. Then take the evening without having to limp through it.
Which excuse left you performing it long after the moment passed?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
