Independence means help is available without becoming required for every step.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A healthy independence has support present but not load-bearing at every step. You can call someone, and you do sometimes, and the day still works if you cannot reach them. That balance is what makes both the independence and the relationships comfortable, because neither one is doing more than it should.
Have a look at whether any single person has become necessary for your ordinary functioning, or whether you have become that for someone else. Neither is a crisis, but both are worth easing. Widen the base a little, so that the help remains a choice on both sides.
