What a record omits becomes harder to question with each generation.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Whatever is left out of a record becomes progressively harder to challenge. The first generation remembers what was excluded, the next only has the document, and by the third the omission is simply the shape of the past. Absence hardens into fact without anyone deciding it should.
With any account you rely on, ask whose perspective is missing and who was not in a position to write anything down. And in your own records, note what you left out and why. A gap you have marked stays a gap rather than becoming invisible.
