A count of arrivals says little about the difficulty of the journey.

RESILIENCE
Knowing how many people arrived tells you nothing about what it took any of them to get there. Two people at the same finishing point may have travelled distances that are not remotely comparable, and the count flattens all of it into a single equivalent unit.
When you are looking at who made it, ask what the route was for different people. This matters in hiring, in admissions, in judging anyone’s achievement including your own. The endpoint is easy to see and it is rarely the part that tells you what someone is capable of.
Whose arrival did you admire without knowing what it cost them?
