A neighborhood can become more desirable while becoming less available to the people who made it desirable.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
An area becomes attractive because of the people, businesses, and life already in it. As demand rises, the costs rise with it, and the people who created what everyone wanted are the first to be unable to stay. The desirability consumes its own source.
If you are moving into somewhere for its character, support what is already there rather than only what arrives after you. Use the existing shops, learn who has been there a long time. It does not solve the underlying economics and it is the part actually within your control.
Who has left your area since it became more popular?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
