The location of shade is a decision about whose summer will be bearable.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Where trees are planted and where they are not is a decision about whose summer is tolerable. Shade tends to follow money, so the hottest streets are frequently the ones where people can least afford to stay indoors, and this looks like nature while being entirely a matter of past choices.
Notice the distribution of trees where you live and where it thins out. If there are decisions being made about planting, it is a small and unusually concrete thing to have an opinion about. Few interventions do as much for daily life at as little cost.
