A meeting can include a person physically while excluding every way they know how to contribute.
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
Presence is not participation. A person can be at the table while the meeting runs entirely on interruption, or speed, or a shared shorthand, or a confidence they do not have access to. They were invited, they attended, and nothing they know reached the discussion. The record will show inclusion, and something closer to the opposite occurred.
If you run meetings, ask directly for the view of anyone who has not spoken, and give a way to contribute in writing afterwards. If you have been in that seat, sending your point in a short note afterwards is not a defeat, it is a second route. Inclusion is about whether the contribution arrives, not whether the chair was filled.
Who sits quietly in your meetings because the format does not suit them?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
