Purpose often survives the destruction of plans.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Plans are specific and fragile. What you are actually for is broader and tends to survive the collapse of any particular version of it. The despair after a plan fails often comes from having no distinction between the two, so the loss of a route reads as the loss of a life.

After something falls apart, wait a little before rebuilding, and then start from the purpose rather than the wreckage. Ask what you were serving. Build the next plan toward that instead of trying to reconstruct the old one.
