If nobody remembered your past, which parts would you choose to tell them first?
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Without a record, you would have to choose what you are. Which parts you would lead with, which you would leave for later, which you might quietly not mention. That selection is a fairly direct account of what you actually believe is essential about you, and it is usually different from what your history emphasises.
Try making the list, even briefly. Then notice how much of your current self-presentation is determined by what people already know rather than by what you would choose. Some of it can be adjusted, and the exercise tells you which parts you are carrying rather than keeping.
Which part of your history would you volunteer to a stranger first?
